I was honored and delighted to direct two sequences for Andrew Sa’s omnibus music film, Andrew in Anotherland.
Local Universe Presents: Andrew in Anotherland is an otherworldly musical adventure through the subconscious of queer country crooner Andrew Sa, featuring special guests from around Chicago.
The film is available to stream on-demand for one week only beginning August 19, 2021 at https://noonchorus.com/andrew-sa/.
Conceived by Andrew Sa and realized under the overall directorial vision of Jesse Morgan Young, the film features sequences helmed by several Chicago directors, including Young himself, Sid Fiore Branca, Parker Callahan, Glamhag, Thea Rice, Morgan Taylor, Chris Tuttle, and Mary Williamson.
The film premiered at Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park on August 16, 2021, as part of a live concert and film screening presented by CIVL (Chicago Independent Venue League) and Chicago’s DCASE (Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events) as a part of Chicago’s Year of Chicago Music and the Millennium Park Music Series. The live event featured performances by Andrew Sa, OHMME, Liam Kazar, Connie, Alex Grelle, Hawk Colman, and Kelly Hogan, with a backing band featuring Dorian Gehring, Lane Beckstrom, and Spencer Tweedy.
